Dr Ian Grime is a Marketing and Education Consultant specialising in Marketing Strategy and Branding for companies, with 25 years’ experience in Higher Education lecturing, researching, the management of staff resources, curriculum development and quality assurance in Post 92 Universities. Ian is Lead Assessor for InPD and Centre Director for the Institute of Professional Development. Over the last 7 years, Ian has helped the EES Group to develop its marketing strategy and is also a Senior Examiner for the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Disability Positive: Marketing practices post-pandemic at a complex community sector organisation

This paper examines the evolving marketing strategies of Disability Positive, a major UK-based community sector organisation supporting over 10,000 individuals with lived experience of disability and long-term conditions. With over £1M in annual income and a workforce where 75% have lived experience, the organisation has adopted a refined marketing approach following a 2019 brand audit and rebrand. It explores the application of marketing frameworks, traditional and digital channels, and the potential of societal and digital marketing in the broader third sector. This industry snapshot provides insights into aligning marketing strategies with organisational growth, service expansion, and Disability Positive’s 2020–2030 ambition to increase reach and turnover.
